We Endorse Raul Labrador for Governor.
Raul is truly they only proven conservative in this race. Raul is one of those rare politicians that actually does what he promises, stands on the principles he espouses. No equivocation no slight of hand, he just ‘gets it done’.
Much has been said about the number of bills he sponsored in Congress. We believe the that is a minor consideration when compared to his being a founding member of the Freedom Caucus, his contributions to changing House leadership (Boehner, Cantor) his be a spokesperson on national shows for real immigration reform balance budgets, and less regulation to name a few of the conservative positions he promised here in Idaho.
His opponents have distorted stretched and have outright lied about his record. We urge you please don’t believe the lies or twisted statistics.
Vote for Raul Labrador on May 15.
While we believe it is time for a change, unfortunately, Brad Little’s record just does not cut it.
He has a troubling record of supporting government big government solutions such as Ottercare, picking winners and losers thru the department of commerce, and tax policy that maintains the status quo or defers to corporate cronies.
He has surrounded himself with former (or current?) IACI staffers which is the lobbying arm of large companies here in Idaho(we have nothing against large companies lobbying). However we do oppose the kind of downtown Boise cronyism that was rampant during the Otter administration; the broadband contract scandal, the Department of Corrections private prison scandal to name a few.
Brad Little is running as a rancher with a long family history we wish that was the full story, unfortunately, it’s the suit and tie Brad Little we have a problem with and so should you.
No question, he has an impressive resume.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a record of Tommy ever speaking out on the issues of the day. This includes education, health care reform, tax policy, and any of the other issues he is currently campaigning on. Additionally, his record as a developer-builder is largely built on urban renewal dollars and government programs.
We know government programs exist and they grant advantages to those that use them. But where do you draw the line? We think the poster child outside of the Boise abuse is in Meridian where they gave urban renewal status and to the farm fields around the 10 miles I84 interchange then Tommy and his cronies built a building for an out of state company that has been given other tax benefits to the tune of additional tens of thousands of dollars from the State Department of Commerce. We based a major part of the opposition to Brad Little on this kind of governing, and see no indication of any of this changing under Ahlquist.
To make matters worse, he has run a campaign of distortion, half-truths, smearing Raul Labrador with Brad Littles record(see his postcard below) and certainly seems to have a problem with the truth. We think Marty Trilhausse from the Lewiston Morning Tribune (4/18/2018) summed it up best in his editorial “ Ahlquist Prevaricates “, in reference to one of the Ahlquist attack ads.
“… But consider the 16 second hit job on Little…”
“…To spread a prevarication every four seconds must be some kind of a record, even for political advertising. Does Ahlquist not know any better, or does he have a casual relationship with the truth?”
– Marty Trilhausse
It is SHAMEFUL that he would attack Congressman Labrador’s attendance record knowing that the missed votes were due to a serious medical condition with one of Raul’s children. This, not the kind of judgment and behavior we need in our next governor.
